By combining the best of our individual aesthetics, Mercedes coastal style, and Karen’s traditionally-influenced east coast design, we make a unique team.
We work collaboratively with clients to create individual spaces that are layered in various furniture styles, patterns, and textures. We embolden rooms with individuality and personality, providing warm, comfortable spaces for every client.
Mercedes Brennan
Mercedes Brennan grew up in Southern California and later lived for ten years in Chile, where she developed a passion for interior and furniture design. Upon her return to the United States, she studied and received a Masters in Interior Architecture from UCLA. In 2013, she founded 1 Chic Retreat, a blog about vacation home hospitality design. She currently divides her time between Savannah, Georgia, and Southern California.
Karen Campbell
A native of Chicago, Karen Campbell graduated from Denison University with a degree in Studio Art and Political Science. Having grown up working in her mother’s art galleries, Karen decided she wanted to marry her love of art and design. After taking time off to raise her children, Karen went back to work for a high-end luxury real estate builder that focused on large-scale homes in Southern California. When her longtime friend, Mercedes Brennan, came calling to ask if she wanted to become partners in an interior design firm, Karen jumped at the chance. They have worked on projects throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean as well as Romania.
